How to setup meal categories

Meal  categories refer to the structure for grouping  food offerings in the school canteen into specific groups based on when they are typically served and consumed throughout the day., such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks.

This grouping also makes it easier for feeders to navigate the cafeteria and make healthy choices based on the time of day and their hunger levels.


See how to setup meal categories:


  1. Navigate to  meal categories.



  1. You will notice that there are default meal categories that have already been created. Click on edit to make changes to the details of a meal category to suit your canteen requirements.



  1. Make the necessary updates to the meal category as needed: Name, description, and start and end times for the meal category.


 

  • Choose a theme colour for the meal category to help with easy identification.


  1. You can also create an entirely new meal category in addition to the already existing ones. To do this:  Click on Create Meal Category from the Meal Category page.



  1. Provide the details of the meal category in the modal provided. 



  1. Click on save to create the category.
